• I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it if you or your friends are looking to be inspired, want to brush up on some techniques or just want a conversation inducing coffee table book. The quality of the photography and the vibrancy of the artist’s colors makes for a beautiful book. Her writing style is witty and engaging with very person ancedotes that give you a more in-depth view of who she is and why she creates what creates. I’ve enjoyed following her on Instagram and find her videos to be therapeutic, but have always felt I couldn’t necessarily do it nearly as well, so why even try to make my own pieces. This book really is inspiring and makes these projects seem achievable and if it doesn’t work out perfectly that’s quite alright as it’s really about the process of making art. I think I need to get some acrylics, a canvas, and a palate knife and go to town.
• Just get this book. You’ll thank me (but more likely, the author) later! I’ve owned hundreds of books on art technique over my lifetime and this is the only one that I’m actually reading every word of cover to cover. It’s a total joy and I cannot wait to try out Josie’s projects.
• I got my copy this week, after a small delay from internal mail delivery at my work (safer than delivery to my apartment). I LOVE IT! It's a gorgeous, gorgeous book. Quality paper and printing, the images and color pops so beautifully. Your commentary displays so much information as well as your sparkling personality. I love your style in your videos, and I can just hear you in my head as I read the text in the book... hehehe... makes me smile. I'm not really a painter at all, but I love color and I love knowing about various mediums. Even not being a painter, this is a treasure trove and I am so happy you are sharing it with us all. I will be trying out some of the tutorials with templates for sure, as I feel they are very easy to follow even for a non-painter. (I have used various mediums in the past some wood, ceramic/clay, metal (jewelry/chainmaille), with my favorite and supreme medium being glass via lampworking - but only ever dabbled with art type painting.) Thank you for sharing your process and knowledge!
• I loved this book, even purchased her limited edition Watercolor kit that she formulated with her favorite colors. I love love love it, now if I could just find some time to really dive in and soak up all of her wisdom ! I mean.... Just look at those page numbers - so colorful and so beautiful ! The prints of her work are phenomenal <3
• The New Color Mixing Companion is the perfect book for those of us who want to learn how to mix and use colors in ways that are fresh, exciting and challenging. This may mean throwing away some of your preconceived notions about how to mix colors, or how to look at color or learn a new technique or skill. As a beginner I was able to lose most of my hesitancy after a few exercises and found it liberating and enjoyable.
  
  This book is funny I usually don't laugh aloud when using my art books, but I chuckled and guffawed all through the book. The book itself is beautiful, just gorgeous to look at. This is my favorite art book I own.

• Just received my copy last night and am loving reading through the many projects. The photos throughout are amazing, and Josie Lewis’ writing style is casual and super funny. Her intros for each project provide just the right amount of context and information to get you inspired to want to try it out. She makes learning about color so accessible! Love the little tips sprinkled within the project pages too.
  
  Obviously I love the book! In addition to having fun reading through and deciding which project to try first, I know others will also appreciate the extra observations Lewis inserts every couple of projects/chapters that dig deeper into the areas of creativity. So good!!!

• This is a great and inspirational book which my wife loves and gives a different view on color, pattern, art. Gives some "outside" the box ideas from her "Naptime buttons" things she does herself.
