- This books is a WONDERFUL resource for those wanting to save money and eat well. Most of us go about meal planning backwards and feel that we need to plan 21 complete meals for the week and then make our shopping list from that menu plan. This book guides you through a wonderful way to eat better than that for less money, less time, and less waste. I love her guide for shopping at Aldi (even though she does not say that must be your only store). I have avoided even going into Aldi, but now will give it a go. Tons of other tips in this book as well. I LOVE it!
- This is a really great resource for how to meal plan on a budget. If saving money is what you want to do, then this will definitely teach you. However, if you have a lot of dietary needs (prefer organic, dairy free, grain free, etc) then you probably won̢۪t get as much out of it other than the stores she recommends because most of the foods she uses as cheap staples are things like rice, beans, cheese, and breads.
- Not a lot of new info, but put together pretty well. I could have done without the almost whole chapter on how to shop at Aldi---that section is only helpful if you have an Aldi, which I don't.
- The author gets this rating because book is used freindly.. It gives you examples on how to do things. For example, it can teach you the basis for canning. It a great reference if you want to learn how to keep your grocery bills down.
- There is good information to be had, and conveniently, it is all in one place as the author mentions but I found it to be a very basic overview for meal planning ideas. The same information can be gathered for free in a wide variety of sources and frankly some of the information presented as "you'll never believe!" is common sense.
- This is a very basic guide to meal planning that references lots of apps, websites and services. There is a chapter dedicated to shopping at Aldi. This was offered as a free book. I would not personally pay for the information included within, but it could be valuable for absolute beginners.
- I love how Jen makes meal planning so easy! Jen show how you can fit mealing prep and planning in your life, no matter your schedule or budget.
